The mere mention of the word "Napa" conjures up images of vast vineyards and snotty wine aficionados milling around perfectly landscaped winery grounds sniffing corks and being, well, VERY impressed with themselves. Of course, if you’re from the south, NAPA is that auto parts chain thet sponsors thet Waltrip boy, the one that kine of talks funny, ifn’ ya know whut I mean… almost like he actually belongs in Napa.

I’m not normally drawn to places like Napa because my idea of a fun Saturday doesn’t involve a linen suit and a straw hat. Hell, it typically doesn’t even involve clean clothes. Fortunately, there is perfectly good mountain biking available on the outskirts of town at Skyline Regional Park.

The park was the site of a World Cup race a few years back and acquired a pretty decent trail system in the process. It’s got rocky stuff & lush, green stuff. Pretty much typical NorCal singletrack minus the burly female rangers running around with radar guns. Yep, there is no adult supervision at Skyline, and there are serious points awarded for that.
