The The Syncline Trail - A BIG trail system located on the sunny Washington side of the Columbia river. Gorge riders' favorite place to ride in the winter/spring, as it's mostly rock & sandy soil & drains pretty well. It's usually too hot and full of poison oak in the summer. It's got trails with all levels of difficulty, and includes some pretty sweet downhill technicals and some blazing fast buffed out singletrack.

You basically start the ride by climbing up the side of the Gorge, about 2000' feet or so. The cars in the parking lot at river level look like Hot Wheels from the top. The place reminds of Rockville, one of my favorite NorCal spots, if you were to put the trail system up on top of a sheer granite bluff. They've both got some great technical rock garden riding, except Syncline has much more elevation.

Did I mention the views of the river aren't bad, either...
